Alphasyn T Synthetic Gear Oil

Alphasyn T Synthetic Gear Oil

Description
The Castrol Alphasyn™ T gear oil range of synthetic lubricants is based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids and sulphur/ phosphorus anti-wear additive technology providing outstanding thermal stability and good load carrying capacity.

Application
The Alphasyn T range has been formulated for use in most types of light to medium duty enclosed gear systems but should not be used for heavy or shock loaded systems.
Alphasyn T is also suitable for bearings and circulatory systems operating at high temperatures.
Alphasyn T is suitable for various applications where a lubricating oil is used under high temperatures, e.g. from hydraulic systems through to large, slow moving gears.
All products in the Alphasyn T range have very low pour points and excellent viscosity and temperature characteristics, allowing their use in both low and high temperature applications.

The Alphasyn T range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluropolymer seal materials.

Alphasyn T is classified as follows:
DIN Classification is CL

The Alphasyn T range meets the requirements of:

  • DIN 51517 Part 2
  • David Brown Type A

Advantages

  • Good thermal and oxidative stability provides reliable operation and extended operating life when compared to mineral oil based products.
  • Inherently high viscosity index (VI) makes the product suitable for operations operating over a wide temperature range.
  • Good anti-wear and load carrying abilities minimises gear wear and prolongs gear tooth life.
  • Reduced down time through water separation and demulsification characteristics resulting in prolonged lubricant life and increased equipment reliability.
  • PAO based lubricant that provides good compatibility with seals, paints and mineral oil based lubricants.

Castrol Alphasyn EP Synthetic Gear Oils

Castrol Alphasyn EP Synthetic Gear Oils

Description

The Castrol Alphasyn™ EP gear oil range of high quality synthetic lubricants are based on poly-alphaolefin (PAO) fluids and sulphur/phosphorus Extreme Pressure (EP) additive technology providing good thermal stability and high load carrying capacity.

Application
The Alphasyn EP range have been formulated for use in all types of enclosed gears including heavy and shock-loaded gears and bearings where EP properties are required. They are suitable for use in gear boxes where micro-pitting resistance is required and for a wide range of applications in extreme environments, for example mining and quarrying, marine applications and paper production. The use of a PAO base stock provides an inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) and low pour points making these products suitable for use over a wide temperature range.

The Alphasyn EP range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluropolymer seal materials.

Alphasyn EP is classified as follows:
DIN Classification is CLP

The Alphasyn EP range meets the requirements of:

  • DIN 51517 Part 3
  • Flender
  • AGMA 9005 - E02
  • AIST 224
  • David Brown Type E

Advantages

  1. Full EP performance gives protection of gears against wear and shock loading, including protection against micro-pitting.
  2. Good thermal and oxidative stability provides reliable operation and extended operating life when compared to mineral oil based products.
  3. High corrosion protection for gears. Inherently high Viscosity Index (VI) makes the product suitable for operations over a wide temperature range.
  4. Rapid air release and good performance in the Flender Foam Test prevents foaming and bearing damage.
  5. Good water separation and demulsification characteristics means reduced down time through prolonged lubricant life and increased equipment reliability.
  6. PAO based lubricant provides good compatibility with seals, paints and mineral oil based lubricants.

Food Grease Timken

TIMKEN® FOOD SAFE GREASE Lubricating Grease

Part Numbers
GR231C 400 g (14 oz) cartridge
GR231F 1 kg (2.2 lb) tub
GR231P 16 kg (35.3 lb) pail
GR231K 55 kg (121.3 lb) keg
GR231D 180 kg (400 lb) drum

Product Description and Intended
Use TIMKEN Food Safe Grease is an NLGI No. 2, aluminum complex thickened lubricating grease designed for food grade applications. The synthetic blend fluids provide for improved low and high temperature performance compared with typical food grade greases.
This product contains extreme pressure and antiwear additives as well as corrosion and oxidation inhibitors.

TIMKEN Food Safe Grease is formulated in compliance with CFR, Title 21, Section 178.3570 and meets the requirements for an NSF H1 (formerly USDA H1) lubricant where there is possibility of incidental food contact.
Timken Food Safe grease is also certified with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for incidental food contact.

Product Application

TIMKEN Food Safe Grease can be applied from ambient temperatures of - 18° F to + 300° F (- 28° C to + 149° C) depending on lubrication system design and method of application.

TIMKEN Food Safe Grease has an operating temperature range of - 40° F to + 300° F (- 40° C to + 149° C) once in the application.
Follow equipment manufacturer’s recommendations concerning lubrication frequencies.

Compatibility of Grease TIMKEN Food Safe Grease is generally compatible with aluminum complex thickened greases.

Timken recommends that all grease be removed from the application prior to changing greases.
Then the lubrication interval is reduced by half for the first lubrication cycle before resuming the normal lubrication interval.

Handling and Storage Store in a dry area away from heat and open flame.
See Material Safety Data Sheet for more information.

Shipping and Disposal Information Follow governmental regulations pertaining to the shipping and disposal of this product.
